Two black women walked in behind my mother and I and I overheard Courtney make a comment to the other associate that she should not bother with them as they probably won't purchase anyway. Assuming because they were black they were poor!
Although I really like the Maurices brand, I hate this store. They are pushy and snobbish. The management is some of the worst I've ever seen. Courtney, literally refused to ring someone up because they only had one item. She told them, "You know my rules. Go find 2 more items." Then I witnessed another manager (Jess) ask an employee to rate her own appearance. The employee responded, "I'd rate myself a 9." To which Jess responded "Wrong. I'd rate you a 6. How could you improve that?" The employee looked like she wanted to cry. I must add that the employee looked fantastic. Corporate needs to come in here and clean house! I can see in the reviews that I am not the only one who has an issue with the management here.

Everyday I love my job here at Maurices ! It might not be my forever job, but the company treats me way better than any other job I've had. I've personally grow so much with my experiences here and enjoy helping others boost their confidence. Anyone looking for a wardrobe upgrade should come visit us here where we are always looking our best for you and aiming for you to walk out feeling complete
When we walked in to this store, the manager, Courtney was counseling another employee about not wearing makeup. That in itself is ridiculous.
One time when I was in this store I witnessed two employees (two blonde women) screaming at another employee. I was shocked to learn that both these women are actually the managers. Their names are Courtney and Jess. The horrible treatment of employees has been continuous. On numerous occasions I have witnessed their disgust and insults to their employees. Very sad because I have never had this problem at any other Maurices store. I would rather take the longer drive to the other Maurices stores than have to return to the Lycoming Mall Maurices.

We walked around and still hadn't been greeted as she took the employee into the back, leaving the floor completely unattended (I am a GM at a store and I would NEVER do this)
When my mother (who is wheelchair ridden)asked for her assistance in reaching one of the tops at the very top, she literally snapped at the other associate like a dog and told her "There are people up here on the floor who need something, you shouldn't be in the back" i felt AWFUL for this young lady.
To Maurices top management, you need to do something about the abhorrent managers in this store.
I have been shopping here for a few years now. Went in a few times this summer to get essentials and Kristen was very helpful. They have some really cute clothes this summer as well.
